Sydenham has four railway stations.
Well three and a half really as Penge East straddles the border at the end of
Newlands Park.
Penge East and Sydenham
Hill has frequent trains to Victoria and peak time trains to Blackfriars.
The services are now being increased as they no longer have to make way for
Eurostar expresses after the transfer of the Paris & Brussels service from
Waterloo to St Pancras in October 2007.
Sydenham itself is on the
mainline from East Croydon to London Bridge and Charing Cross. From 2010 it
will also join the London Overground Network as the East London Line is
extended south to West Croydon and Crystal Palace. Penge West & Forest Hill
Stations are on the same line and service communities on the southern and
northern boundaries of Sydenham
Lower Sydenham provides
frequent services to Cannon Street and Charing Cross.
